Dominoes
Dominoes is a tile-matching game for two players. On KachaPlay (kachaplay.com) we play the Block game with a classic double-six set — free in your browser, against the computer, a random opponent, or a friend. This page covers the exact rules we use, the ways to play, and a few tips.
The rules we use
- A double-six set has 28 tiles. Each player is dealt 7 tiles; the other 14 are set aside and unused — there is no boneyard and no drawing.
- Seat one opens with any tile. Players then take turns adding a tile to an open end of the chain, matching pip values.
- A player who cannot play must pass.
- The first player to empty their hand wins the round.
- If the game is blocked — neither player can add a tile — the player with the lower pip total in hand wins. Equal totals are a genuine draw.
Dominoes is the one game here with hidden information: you always see your own hand and how many tiles your opponent holds, but never which tiles they are. The deal is shuffled by the server, so the tiles you get are not something either side can arrange.
Ways to play on KachaPlay
Against the computer
Three difficulty levels — Rookie, Sensei and Master. Computer games are for practice: no rating change, no coins or gems.
Online against a random opponent
Get matched with another player. These games are rated — dominoes keeps its own Elo rating, and online games are where coins and gems come from.
Against a friend
Create a room and share the link, or invite a friend. Friend rooms are casual (no rating). Each online game can be no time limit, 5 minutes or 10 minutes per side. See How to Play for the full rating and currency rules.
A few tips
- Play your heavy tiles early — if the game blocks, a big hand loses on pip count.
- Watch which numbers your opponent passes on; those are the ends to keep alive.
- Holding a double can let you match an end no single tile of yours can.
- Since there is no drawing, count what has been played to guess what they still hold.
FAQ
Which dominoes variant is this?
The Block game with a double-six set — no boneyard, so you pass when you cannot play.
Can I draw tiles if I am stuck?
No. There is no drawing in the Block game; if you cannot match an end, you pass.
Can a round end in a draw?
Yes — if the game blocks and both hands have the same pip total, it is a draw.
在 KachaPlay(kachaplay.com)我们采用 Block(封锁)玩法,使用经典双六牌组——打开浏览器即可免费对战:可选电脑、随机对手或好友。
